Thank you to Dr Delia Ciobotaru, Dr Katrin Wilhelm, Dr Julia Badger, Dr Barbara Bynder and Stephen Thomas for their brilliant presentations.
Dr Katrin Wilhelm: Green space as institutional and ecological infrastructure
Dr Delia Ciobotaru: What works and for whom in nature-based interventions for mental health and wellbeing
Dr Julia Badger: Nature-based programmes for wellbeing in schools and education
Dr Barbara Bynder: Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing: Connection to Country
Stephen Thomas: Nature-Health programmes and vision in Oxford, Leverhulme Centre for Nature Recovery
Discussion questions included:
- What is one question in your own work on nature and health you cannot answer without adding the methods of another discipline? How would you go about finding someone with that methodological expertise?
- What are the three most urgent questions on human-nature health that we need answered in the next 5 years which require genuinely new approaches rather than just more evidence?
- How can wider stakeholder perspectives, outside academia, be brought into human-nature health research? How can we bring these stakeholders into our Platform in mutually meaningful ways?
- What kinds of research or evidence would actually impact practice and/or policy? Are you in a position to impact policy and practice? What would help?
- When we describe nature in the language of medicine (e.g., dose, exposure, intervention, prescription), what does that buy us with funders and health systems, what might it cost us, and what might be excluded?
